FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    1. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Pants or shorts with an elastic or drawstring waistband are recommended.

    2. Do not eat a large meal within 2 hours of your session.

    3. No recreational drugs or alcohol before your session.

    4. If this is your first session, please arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out some additional paperwork.

    1. You will likely start your session in a seated position, but Laurie may transition you to lying on a massage table to continue breathing or for energy work.

    2. As you breathe intentionally, different sensations may arise. It can be common to feel a bit lightheaded, or have tingling in the lips, fingers, or toes.

    3. You may feel different emotions such as fear, grief, anger, joy, or elation.

    • When we practice breathwork, your body is releasing emotional blockages and trauma, and also brings new energy into the system. In the hours and days following a session, you may notice some changes in your physical and emotional state.

      • Fatigue- you may feel more tired than normal. This is especially common if you had a big energy release during the session.

      • Calm- your nervous system may have released some of the fight-or-flight energy, allowing a state of calmness to wash over you.

      • Continued sensitivity- during your breathwork session, we are bringing things to the surface that your body is ready to release. You may find you are a bit teary or more sensitive than usual. Please know that this is normal. Be gentle with yourself, allow time to rest.

      • New thoughts or perspectives- feelings of peace, calm and new perspectives often occur.
